The Great Commission is the summary statement of Christ’s mission for His disciples. After spending three and a half years with them, He sends them out with a specific task–making disciples of the nations.  A careful study of Scripture reveals the missional nature of God. All of Scripture tells the story of God forming for Himself a people who reflect His glory throughout the earth. The church in the New Testament make up the people of God who are purchased by the blood of Christ and “sent” by Him into all the earth with the message of redemption. Over the next three weeks, I am looking forward to preaching from Matthew 28:18-20 where we will take a careful look at how the disciples of Jesus are “SENT” into their communities, their neighborhoods, as well the whole world, with the command to share the gospel and make disciples.  Invite someone to worship with you at Green Street this upcoming Sunday!
