The Scottish preone-day-revival-745acher Andrew Bonar once said, “Revivals begin with God’s own people; the Holy Spirit touches their heart anew, and gives them new fervor and compassion, and zeal, new light and life, and when He has thus come to you, He next goes forth to the valley of dry bones. Oh, what responsibility this lays on the Church of God! If you grieve Him away from yourselves, or hinder His visit, then the poor perishing world suffers sorely!”  Revival is the byproduct of prayer and obedience.  It results in a renewed passion and commitment to make disciples.  Surely, we need God to revive the hearts of His people in these days.

This upcoming Sunday will be a very special day in the life of our Green Street family as we have set aside the day for revival services.  Dr. Ron Lynch, staff evangelist from FBC Indian Trail, will be speaking in all three of our services–8:30, 11:00, and 6:00pm.  The Rick Webb Family will also be with us, and our choir and orchestra led by Pastor Mark will be leading us in worship.  I have asked our church family to commit to being in all three services, as Dr. Lynch will be preaching a different message in all three services.  The worship center is sure to be packed, so make sure you get there early to get a good seat.  I hope you are planning on bringing someone with you.  We have been praying for God to move in the life of our church in a powerful way.  I’m looking forward to worship with my church family this upcoming Sunday!
