Proverbs 1:7

I can’t think of anything more valuable than wisdom.  You and I need wisdom for the constant barrage of issues that we face on any given day.  We live in a world that is well versed when it comes to knowledge, but there is very little wisdom to be found. Someone has well said that knowledge involves information, but wisdom involves the application. Thousands of years before you and I were born, King Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, said that true wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord. It doesn’t begin with factual knowledge as much as it begins with a right posture toward God. To fear God means to be in reverential awe of Him.

If we truly ‘fear’ the Lord, we acknowledge from our hearts that He is the Creator and we are the creatures. He’s the Father, we’re the children. He’s the Master, we’re the servants. To fear the Lord means that we respect Him for who He is, listening carefully to what He says, and obeying His Word.

Father, thank You for being the Source of true Wisdom. Jesus Christ is the embodiment of wisdom, and I can be wise only through trusting Him. Amen.
